Book Trailer
11/7/2009 3:32:02 PM
It took me about a week to really figure out how to do it (thank you to so many others on the web who have blogged about it...particularly to the one who did it with a Mac, using iMovie), but I finally
The Reckoning Now Available for Kindle
12/13/2008 7:08:04 PM
I decided to publish my book in ebook form, as well, and offer it through Amazon's Kindle Library. For those of you who have no idea what an ebook is...
Possible News Coverage

Due to the unsolicited promotion of a friend (thanks, Diane), our local newspaper may be doing a story on...
Hillview Ladies Book Review
10/16/2008 12:03:33 PM
I experienced my first book event two days ago and, in preparation, I got my hair cut and even bought some new clothes. I'm not sure why I was so nervous now that I think back on it, but I did everything I could to...
My books came!
10/16/2008 11:51:20 AM
My books came on Tuesday, just in time for my first book event, the Hillview Ladies Book Review here in Richland. It was a good thing, too, because only 4 of the 16 women who came had read my book and only 1-2 others had purchased it. At the end of the evening, after there had been so many...
My Book is Available on Amazon!
10/2/2008 8:49:21 AM
I should have posted this days ago when I first discovered Amazon.com had uploaded my book to its site. According to them, it got added...

I got the email notice today. Within 5 business days, I should receive my sample physical copy of my book for final approval. Once it's approved,
Theresa's Prison Journal -- Sunday, October 27, 2002
9/15/2008 11:17:11 AM
Tomorrow I'll be let out of this pit for questioning. At least I'll be able to look at something beyond these four walls. Hopefully, I'll get to talk to Tariq. Without a mirror, I've almost forgotten what it's like...
First proofs being redone

I heard back from my Design Coordinator and she said they're working on the corrections and adjustments
Theresa's Prison Journal -- Saturday, October 26, 2002
8/5/2008 7:57:40 PM
Only two more days until I see Tariq. Today for breakfast I only got bread and water. The flat round loaf was at least served
Theresa's Prison Journal -- Friday, October 25, 2002

I still can't find the hidden camera. I didn't think they could outsmart me, but I guess I was wrong. Or maybe...
I got the first proofs!
8/2/2008 2:29:59 PM
I suppose if you were to compare publishing your first book to having your first baby, then I got the equivalent of the baby's first ultrasound by email yesterday. My Design Coordinator sent the first cover proof and it looks terrific! It just needs a little adjustment here and there, as does the title page. Also, I'm going to change the...
Theresa's Prison Journal -- Thursday, October 24, 2002

Theresa's Prison Journal -- Wednesday, October 23, 2002
8/1/2008 8:19:53 AM
The boil on my arm is beginning to look nasty and I had to be careful not to roll on that side last night. I hope Tariq remembers to bring me something for it. I scratched another...
Theresa's Prison Journal -- Tuesday, October 22, 2002
7/31/2008 12:19:08 PM
My sleep was fitful. I think I'm going to have to really exercise hard to wear myself out...three times a day, instead of just in the morning. Otherwise, I won't be tired enough at night to sleep through the occasional bursts of yelling and screaming. At least Tariq was true to his word and had my pills...
Theresa's Prison Journal--Monday, October 21, 2002
7/30/2008 2:19:05 PM
After awaking once before dawn (most likely from the cold), I had somehow managed to drift off again before I was shocked out of my sleep, as uncomfortable as it was, when my cell lights suddenly came on. I'll admit it took me more than a few minutes to orient myself. Only hours before, Tariq had said goodnight and shut me in, leaving me
Nostalgia on Cover
7/24/2008 5:32:35 PM
I spoke with my book's Design Coordinator yesterday by phone (while traveling back from a brief visit to Idaho) and she said that, due to the size of Vian Sora's painting "Nostalgia,"
Designing My Book
7/22/2008 11:28:50 AM
My Design Coordinator at BookSurge has been in touch and I had to fill out a questionnaire, indicating my preferences for the look of the book, both inside and out. I was disappointed they didn't have Engraver's MT as a choice of font for the book title on the cover page...but I chose the closest thing to it. Also, I really
My Book is Submitted
7/14/2008 6:29:15 PM
Regardless of all the controversy at present over Amazon and BookSurge, I went ahead and uploaded my manuscript, the cover art, and my author's photo to the folks at BookSurge today. Now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that things will go fairly smoothly.
My Book Cover
7/12/2008 5:52:10 PM
I am so excited that the Iraqi artist, Vian Soro, is letting me use her painting "Nostalgia" for my book cover for The Reckoning! It's perfect because it shows a woman sitting (as my protagonist, Theresa, would be in a prison cell) and yet there's not the dreariness that a prison cell picture would have evoked. Instead, combined with the title, there's an air of mystery wholly consistent with my story. I particularly like the bright light that appears to be over her shoulder in the upper right hand corner of the painting...which will make sense once readers have completed the book. Also, the title "Nostalgia" conjures up memories and so much of my story revolves around memories and their gradual recollection.

As soon as I can, I'll paste an image of the book cover on my Home Page and Books Page.
